The Mechanical Engineer of the UGV team is responsible for the design, development and technical integrity of the mechanical part of the platform of the unmanned ground robotic complex. The role focuses on the creation and evolution of the basic mechanical solutions of the platform, which are the basis for further integration, customization and serial use. Ensures structural reliability, durability and reproducibility of mechanical solutions in real operating conditions.
Сore responsibilities
UGV Platform Mechanical Design
Design and development of basic mechanical components and structures of the UGV platform
Formation of the mechanical architecture of the platform
Definition of basic structural solutions and platform standards
Ensuring compatibility of mechanics with electronic, RF and embedded systems
Structural Integrity & Durability
Ensuring the required indicators of strength, rigidity and durability of platform structures
Analysis of loads, vibrations, shocks and wear
Taking into account difficult operating conditions when designing mechanical solutions
Establishing solutions to increase the durability and maintainability of the platform
Platform Standardization & Scalability
Development of standard mechanical solutions for the entire UGV platform
Supporting repeatability and scalability of mechanical components
Providing a basis for integration and customization without disrupting the platform
Manufacturing & Production Readiness
Designing solutions taking into account serial production
Preparation and maintenance of design documentation
Interaction with production on the implementation of mechanical solutions
Verification & Validation
Participation in bench and field tests of the basic platform
Validation of mechanical solutions as part of the UGV
Analysis of test results and updating of mechanical solutions of the platform
Key Competencies & Skills:
Strong skills in mechanical design of basic platforms
Practical experience in engineering design and analysis of mechanical systems
Knowledge of principles of materials science and tolerance and fit systems
Experience in designing for complex operating conditions
Systems engineering thinking
Experience with platforms or mass production equipment is an advantage
Language Requirements:
Ukrainian - fluent
English - Upper-Intermediate (B2) or higher

Responsibility for basic mechanical solutions and their consequences
Orientation on standards, repeatability and long-term operation
Readiness to work with complex engineering tasks

What Success Looks Like After 6 Months:
The mechanical solutions of the base platform are stable, reproducible, and withstand field loads. The platform does not require constant design changes and is a reliable basis for integration and customization. The engineer is perceived by the team as the owner of the mechanical part of the UGV platform and a reliable technical support.
