QA Engineer
R&D
Tallinn, Estonia
Full-time
We are looking for a skilled and motivated Electronics & Electrical Engineer to join our growing engineering team as we design and scale advanced robotics systems — including unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs) and flying drones. You will be responsible for the design, integration, and testing of electrical and electronic systems spanning low-voltage electronics (e.g., PCBs, embedded systems) and electrical distribution (e.g., harnessing, power interfaces), ensuring safe, reliable, and scalable solutions that meet the demands of complex field-ready robotics.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on problem solver who can bridge the gap between R&D, manufacturing, and supply chain. You’ll work closely with mechanical, software, and production teams to design electronic architectures, manage wiring and harnessing, and support system-level integration and testing.
Сore responsibilities
Electronics & Electrical System Design
Design and develop Electronics & Electrical architecture for UGVs, drones, and related sub-systems.
Select components including power supplies, connectors, circuit protection, communication interfaces.
Develop schematic diagrams, PCB schematics, and wire harness drawings using ECAD tools (e.g., Altium, Eagle, KiCAD, or equivalent).
Debugging PCBs, working with test equipment (e.g., oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters).
Design and validate PCB assemblies for sensor interfaces, power regulation, or motor drivers.
Specify wiring, cables, and connectors for harsh environments and mobile platforms.
Integration & Testing
Support integration of electrical systems into mechanical assemblies in collaboration with mechanical engineers.
Define and execute validation plans: PCB bring-up, load testing, continuity checks, firmware-flashing support, electrical bring-up, load testing, continuity checks, EMI mitigation, etc.
Troubleshoot system-level issues and support field testing of autonomous platforms.
Manufacturing & Documentation
Prepare and maintain electrical BOMs, harness build instructions, test procedures, and electrical assembly documentation.
Work with manufacturing and suppliers to ensure repeatability, quality, and compliance with safety standards.
Assist in transitioning designs from prototype to production.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with R&D, software, mechanical, and production teams to ensure seamless product integration.
Provide input on PCB layouts, housing design constraints, and electrical safety.
Act as a liaison with suppliers and partners for electrical parts sourcing and specification alignment.
Key Competencies & Skills
Strong understanding of low-voltage electrical systems, power distribution, grounding, and signal integrity.
Hands-on experience designing and troubleshooting wire harnesses and electrical assemblies.
Proficient in ECAD tools for schematics, PCB, and harness design (e.g., Altium, Eagle, SolidWorks Electrical).
Familiarity with autonomous or robotic platforms, including motor controllers, sensors, batteries, and embedded systems.
Experience with electrical safety, EMI/EMC considerations, and robust system design for mobility platforms.
Excellent collaboration and documentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Mechatronics, or related field.
Experience: 2–5+ years in hardware/electrical engineering, ideally in robotics, drones, automotive, or industrial systems.
Experience with mobile platforms, battery systems, or ruggedized environments is a strong plus.
Familiarity with standards such as IPC/WHMA-A-620 (wire harness quality) or ISO 26262 (if relevant) is an advantage.
What We Offer
Work on cutting-edge robotic systems with real-world applications.
A hands-on role with ownership across the full product lifecycle.
An international, growth-focused environment with a passionate team of engineers and innovators.
Opportunities to grow with the company as our product portfolio expands globally.
