QA Engineer Radio

R&D

Kyiv

Full-time

We are looking for an experienced QA Engineer to ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of advanced wireless communication systems.

This role involves testing embedded firmware, radio subsystems, and networking stacks running on microcontrollers and FPGA-based SoC platforms. You will work closely with Embedded, FPGA, RF, and Hardware engineers to validate real-time behavior, radio performance, and system robustness under real-world conditions.

This position is ideal for engineers who enjoy working with real hardware, RF equipment, protocol analysis, and structured validation of complex embedded systems.

Сore responsibilities

Develop and execute test plans for embedded and radio communication systems

  • Design validation strategies for PHY, MAC, and networking layers

  • Perform functional, regression, integration, and system-level testing

  • Validate real-time behavior under RTOS-based environments (FreeRTOS / CMSIS-RTOS)

  • Perform radio testing including:

    • Throughput and latency measurements

    • Packet loss and BER/PER testing

    • Jamming resilience and interference scenarios

    • Sensitivity and link budget validation

  • Work with RF test equipment and spectrum analyzers

  • Analyze logs and debug system-level issues

  • Reproduce and document defects with clear root-cause analysis

  • Collaborate closely with Embedded, FPGA and RF engineers

  • Maintain structured test documentation and traceability

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in QA or validation of embedded systems

  • Strong understanding of wireless communication fundamentals:

    • Modulation schemes (e.g., QPSK)

    • Basic RF concepts (SNR, EVM, BER, bandwidth, link budget)

  • Experience testing embedded firmware on real hardware

  • Experience with protocol analysis (TCP/IP, UDP, low-level wireless protocols)

  • Hands-on experience with lab measurement equipment

  • Experience with Python or similar scripting language for automation

  • Familiarity with Git and structured bug tracking systems

  • Strong analytical and documentation skills

Nice to Have

  • Experience testing custom PHY implementations (e.g., QPSK-based systems, spread spectrum)

  • Familiarity with mesh or low-power networking stacks

  • Experience with compliance and regulatory testing (ETSI / FCC)

  • RF Background

What We Offer

  • Work on advanced wireless and embedded systems

  • Exposure to real RF hardware and system-level validation

  • Challenging technical problems in real-world radio environments

  • Close collaboration with cross-functional engineering teams

  • Competitive compensation based on experience

  • Flexible work environment (on-site Kyiv / hybrid / field)

Who Will Succeed in This Role

  • Engineers who enjoy structured problem-solving and root-cause analysis

  • Candidates comfortable working with hardware and lab equipment

  • Detail-oriented professionals who value documentation and reproducibility

  • Team players who can bridge development and system validation

  • Individuals who are passionate about wireless technologies and system reliability
