The UGV Lead owns the technical maturity, reliability, and operational readiness of the company’s unmanned ground vehicle (UGV) platforms.

We are hiring this role to build and lead a UGV engineering team within Frontline Operations, the function responsible for ensuring products perform reliably in real combat and operational environments. The team works at the intersection of engineering, product, and field operations, deploying systems outside the lab and improving them based on real-world use.

The UGV Lead focuses on hardening and evolving an existing UGV platform, moving it from an engineering-ready system to a reliable, maintainable, and scalable field-deployed product. The role is accountable for platform stability, field performance, and long-term lifecycle readiness.

Сore responsibilities

Platform Ownership & Maturation

  • Full responsibility for the suitability of UGV platforms for production and combat operations

  • Driving platforms to full combat readiness and stability

  • Controlling the quality of all platform changes and modifications

Engineering Execution & Coordination

  • Leading the engineering team (mechanical, electronic/hardware, embedded, RF)

  • Prioritizing tasks based on frontline requirements

  • Aligning technical changes with the CTO and core engineering teams

Field Adaptation & Reliability

  • Improving and adapting platforms for real combat conditions

  • Analyzing failures, defects, and performance degradation

  • Continuously increasing platform reliability and maintainability

Cross-Team Collaboration

  • Working closely with Integration, Customization, Field Testing, and Deployment teams

  • Іmplementing field feedback into technical solutions that improve the product

  • Ensuring UGV compatibility with control and communication systems

Lifecycle & Support Readiness

  • Preparing platforms for serial production and long-term operation

  • Standardizing components, repair procedures, and maintenance processes

  • Managing spare parts and technical documentation

  • Developing and preparing technical documentation for further testing and codification (if required), including technical descriptions, manuals, and instructions

Qualifications

  • Deep understanding of mechanical, electronic, embedded, and RF systems

  • Experience working with robotic or vehicle platforms

  • Strong engineering and systems thinking skills

  • Experience with combat or field-deployed systems

  • Strong management and leadership capabilities

  • Ability to make decisions under pressure

  • Results-driven mindset with strong focus on product reliability

  • Experience in defense, robotics, or other mission-critical environments — a strong advantage
